The Bloom Story
Bloom Homeschool Support Services was born in 2013 as The Traveling Tutor, thanks to Christine, a former classroom teacher. Christine started by offering tutoring services to homeschool families on the go, using her car and a book bag.
She wanted to go beyond just teaching the curriculum - she wanted to be there for families long-term and restore a natural love to learn in every child.
When a local cooperative stopped offering standardized testing, Christine realized how important it was for families to have access to these tests as well as portfolio evaluations. So, she took it upon herself to administer them herself.
By 2021, the company had grown beyond tutoring and now offers portfolio evaluations, academic advising, and many more tutors to choose from. And that’s how Bloom Homeschool Support Services became a one-stop shop for homeschooling families.
Meet Christine
Christine is Bloomschool’s founder, educator, and homeschooling guide at Bloom Homeschool Support.
As a former classroom teacher and exceptional student educator, she wanted to create something practical and personal. She wanted to offer homeschooling services without leaving the human side out of it, knowing that every child and family needs a specific type of support.
She created Bloomschool based on the following principles:
- We should be teaching the child as a whole: cognitively, emotionally, and socially
- We should use multi-sensory learning tools that actually work
- Families need a space to reach out for support
- Offering honest and practical solutions for homeschooled children shouldn’t be hard
Her goal with Bloomschool was to meet families where they are and help students grow with the confidence and structure to achieve their goals.
Scholarship Funding Made Simple
Bloom Homeschool Support is proud to be an official Step Up For Students Provider. Families can now use their Step Up scholarship funding to access our full range of services, including tutoring, annual evaluations, standardized testing (such as the Stanford 10), and homeschool counseling/advising through our Choice Navigator program.
